Harrison Looks to Continue Resurgence

HARRISON – With plenty of size returning up front, the resurgence of Harrison football looks to continue in 2016.

The Hornets have made consecutive playoff appearances for the first time since their streak of five in a row from 1995-1999, and have finished second in the Jack Pine Conference with just one loss each of the last two years. Coupled with a win over rival Clare last year for the first time since 2010 and Harrison is catching no one off guard this season.

"The message I told them is that, now with our success, everybody knows about Harrison. So every week we got to be ready,” coach Mike Petrongelli said. “If we can control the line of scrimmage, both offensively and defensively, then it gives us a lot of leverage and a lot of leeway, a lot of possibilities. Everybody is improving and they’ve got good groups coming back. The Jack Pine should be just tough as can be from top to bottom."

Harrison opens its season with a pair of home games against Lake City on Aug. 26 and Evart on Sept. 1.
