LELAND – With a hat trick in Leland’s 8-0 league win over visiting Kingsley on Monday, senior midfielder Libby Munoz became the MHSAA’s all-time leading scorer.
Needing two goals to tie the previous record (195) held by Lake Fenton’s Jordan Newman, Munoz registered three goals and two assists as the Comets improved to 8-3 overall and 5-1 in the Greater Northwest Soccer Conference play.
Munoz entered the season with a 164 career goals.
Mollie Grishaw also tallied a hat trick in the win, while Mattie Burda chipped in with two goals.
Kira Metcalf recorded seven saves in goal.
