GAYLORD – The Gaylord St. Mary baseball team has had back-to-back semi-final appearances the past two years.
They’re hoping this year to make it a third, and take it even further and bring home a championship.
While they are returning only two seniors and have a young roster, they are full of experience.
“We have really high expectations even though we’re a young team. We’re returning some really good players and we expect just as much as last year, if not even more,” said sophomore center fielder, Brady Hunter.
They have their eye on the prize this year and Coach Matt Nowicki thinks they are on the right track.
“Especially for a small school like ours, getting to that point, obviously we have made the semi finals the last two years. I would love to get over that hump and get to the finals and eventually a state championship,” said Nowicki.
