Spartan Stores: Q2 Earnings Snapshot

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) _ Spartan Stores Inc. (SPTN) on Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $16.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based company said it had profit of 47 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 54 cents per share.

The grocery store operator and grocery distributor posted revenue of $2.11 billion in the period.

Spartan Stores expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.70 to $1.80 per share, with revenue in the range of $8.8 billion to $9 billion.

Spartan Stores shares have risen 18% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $20.62, a decline of 1% in the last 12 months.
