Wednesday, Apr. 08 DDOT begins distributing masks to riders to slow spread of coronavirus – Beginning today, Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) provides riders with free surgical masks as they board motor coaches, available on every DDOT bus and available, one per rider, at no cost while supplies last * The city expects to distribute 20,000 masks * Other measures taken to combat the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic include: allowing entry and exit from the rear doors of the bus only; providing ree rides to prevent the need for passengers to use the fare box at the front of the bus; prohibiting seating immediately behind the driver, and providing drivers with masks, gloves and sanitary wipes; and cleaning the bus at the beginning and end of the line each time the bus completes a trip
