SAN ANTONIO (AP) — DeMar DeRozan had 29 points, LaMarcus Aldridge had 25 points and 12 rebounds and the San Antonio Spurs hit a season-high 18 3-pointers in beating the Detroit Pistons, 136-109. San Antonio was 18 for 35 on 3-pointers, including a career-high five by Aldridge. Andre Drummond had 21 points and 18 rebounds for the short-handed Pistons, who played with an 11-man roster due to injuries and illness.
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — Mike Hoffman had a goal and two assists and the Florida Panthers overcame a two-goal deficit to beat the Detroit Red Wings 5-4. Evgenii Dadonov, Brett Connolly, Dominic Toninato and Anton Stralman also scored to help the Panthers win for the fourth time in five games. Chris Driedger made 35 saves in his fourth NHL start to improve to 3-1-0.

Mackenzie Holmes added 18 points off the bench, Grace Berger scored 16 and Aleksa Gulbe had 11 for the Hoosiers, who bounced back after a home loss to No. 10 UCLA. Taryn McCutcheon had 15 points and reached the 1,000-point plateau for the Spartans, who dropped their third straight. They were ranked until losing two at the Florida Sunshine Classic last weekend. ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) — Xavier Hill-Mais recorded 21 points and 10 rebounds as Oakland won its Horizon League opener by beating rival Detroit Mercy 84-71. The win was the Golden Grizzlies sixth straight over the Titans and snapped their current four-game losing streak.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Cheikh Mbacke Diong scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting and Bryce Hamilton scored 13 off the bench and UNLV beat Eastern Michigan 64-49. Donnie Tillman scored 12 for the Rebels who now have won back-to-back contests for the first time this season. Eastern Michigan built a 10-2 lead before the Rebels went on a 19-6 run and led 21-16 when Hamilton threw down a dunk with 5:38 before halftime. The Rebels took control when they outscored Eastern Michigan 23-9 within the first 12 minutes of the second half and led 50-29 when Hamilton made a layup and three-point play.
