DETROIT (AP) — Jake Fraley made a game-saving catch in the ninth inning, then drove in the go-ahead run in the 11th to lead the Seattle Mariners over the Detroit Tigers 9-6. Fraley robbed Isaac Paredes of a game-ending homer with one out in the ninth, reaching well over the left-field fence to make the catch, then threw to first for an inning-ending double play. After both teams scored one run in the 10th, Fraley gave the Mariners a 5-4 lead with a one-out RBI single in the 11th. 

DETROIT (AP) — Lawyers say a son of legendary University of Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler was among the hundreds of men who were sexually assaulted by a campus doctor. Matt Schembechler and two players who were also victims of Dr. Robert Anderson will speak about the abuse during a news conference Thursday. A recent report commissioned by the university found that Bo Schembechler and others were aware of complaints about Anderson, yet he remained at the school for decades. Hundreds of men say Anderson molested them. He spent 37 years on campus and died in 2008.

DETROIT (AP) — General Motors has introduced a special edition Corvette Stingray for 2022 called the IMSA GTLM Championship Edition. The car represents GM’s aim to deliver a luxury sports car that is not only attainable but also competitive with its exotic counterparts. The Stingray is a supercar that is within financial reach with a base price starting at $62,195. Although the special edition revealed Wednesday is nearly $100,000, it is still a reasonable price point for a car fanatic who wants to own vehicle that in the same class yet a third of the price as a Ferrari or a McLaren. 

UNDATED (AP) — Claressa Shields is set to make her debut with the Professional Fighters League in a quest to become the first woman to hold simultaneous titles in both MMA and boxing. She makes her pro debut Thursday in a 155-pound fight against Brittney Elkin. Shields is undefeated in boxing and became the fastest fighter in boxing history  to become a three-division world champion. She trained with former UFC champions Jon Jones and Holly Holm to get ready for the fight. Shields hopes to have one more MMA fight in August and wants to try and box at least two more times this year. 

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Devin Bush says his recovery from right knee surgery is on track. Bush tore the ACL in his right knee in a win over Cleveland last October. Bush estimates he’s at about “80-90%” and plans to be ready when the Steelers report for training camp in July. 

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — When the Los Angeles Rams wrap up their three-day mandatory minicamp by practicing at SoFi Stadium on Thursday, it will be the first chance for fans to see them live at the multi-billion dollar facility. Matthew Stafford will have a different view, part of the quarterback’s continuing adjustment after being dealt from Detroit to Los Angeles in a blockbuster trade. Stafford hopes coming to the Rams will bring a different vantage point of the playoffs after losing in the Wild Card round in each of his three trips with the Lions.
