CMS Energy: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

JACKSON, Mich. (AP) _ CMS Energy Corp. (CMS) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit of $158 million.

The Jackson, Michigan-based company said it had net income of 55 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 56 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 55 cents per share.

The energy company posted revenue of $1.8 billion in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $755 million, or $2.64 per share. Revenue was reported as $6.68 billion.

CMS Energy expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.83 to $2.87 per share.

CMS Energy shares have dropped 6% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has climbed 2%. The stock has decreased 16% in the last 12 months.
