Samantha Jacques joined the Doppler 9&10 Weather Team in April 2019. She’s from Shelby Township, Michigan, and has an unwavering passion for science and weather.
While at Central Michigan University, Samantha was an active member of the Student Chapter of American Meteorological Society. Sam was also an involved member of the meteorology department, working as a teaching assistant for two years. Aside from her involvement at CMU, Samantha interned at WJBK Fox 2 Detroit and worked at News Central 34, CMU’s on-campus station.
Samantha discovered her passion for weather through seeking involvement in the science community. She quickly fell in love with the atmosphere and longs to share her knowledge of meteorology with the world through broadcasting.
Samantha hopes to spark a passion for weather in kids and to inspire young girls to join the STEM field. She loves to spend her spare time with family, friends, exercising, doing yoga, and, of course, shopping. She forever supports Central Michigan University, so, Fire up, Chips!
