Megan Viecelli joined the 9&10 News team as an intern in May of 2016, just weeks after graduating from the University of Michigan. To her surprise, Viecelli soon fell in love with Northern Michigan and decided to stay a little longer.
During the internship, 9&10 hired her on as a news producer. From there, she became a sports reporter, sports anchor, weekend news anchor and eventually a fulltime news anchor. You can catch her on 9&10 News at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., Monday-Friday on Local 32.
Viecelli has always had a passion for storytelling. She was often the first to raise her hand in class or start a conversation with someone at the grocery store. Now that she’s telling 32 counties worth of stories for Northern Michigan’s News Leader, she takes pride in reporting the most accurate, unbiased and impactful stories to communities in the place she now calls “home.”
When she is not busy empowering viewers from the anchor desk, Viecelli is likely trying out a new recipe, reading a good book or cheering on the Wolverines at the largest stadium in the United States (Go Blue!). Viecelli also has a passion for the outdoors. In the summer, you can find her on a golf course or at a driving range trying for the 100th time to hit it straight. In the winter, she’s likely tumbling down a ski hill (also a work in progress) and if it’s raining, she’s probably out searching for the perfect Petoskey stone.
Viecelli has a passion for people and would love to hear from you. You can send her an email, or connect with her on Facebook and Twitter.
