Jason Wentworth (R)

Background:

Jason Wentworth is a Republican running for reelection to represent District 97 in the Michigan House of Representatives. He assumed office in 2017. He is currently assigned to the Ways and Means Committee.

Wentworth was born in Clare and raised in Farwell. He graduated from Farwell High School before enlisting in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged after serving five years. He now works as the East Central Michigan Regional Coordinator for the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency.

Wentworth and his wife has three daughters together.

HB 5345: The bills would amend various sections of the Michigan Liquor Control Code to revise provisions concerning such things as tax payment frequency, brand extensions, beer festival special licenses, and beer in growlers, among others.

HB 5713: A bill to repeal an act which authorizes the governor to proclaim a state of emergency.

HB 5941: would amend the Third Party Administrator Act. In addition to adding provisions concerning pharmacies, the bill would define pharmacy benefit managers and carriers as third party administrators for purposes of the act and add or change definitions for other terms used throughout.
