Haleigh graduated from Central Michigan University with a major in meteorology and a double minor in mathematics and broadcast and cinematic arts. While in school, Haleigh was president of Radio Television Digital News Association, a broadcast club on Central Michigan University’s campus. Before joining 9&10 News, she interned at WWMT in Kalamazoo and WOODTV in Grand Rapids and worked at News Central 34, CMU’s on-campus station.
She is a member of the American Meteorological Society and was awarded the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) seal from the American Meteorological Society. According to the AMS, the seal represents that, “the holder meets specific educational and experience criteria and has passed rigorous testing in their knowledge and communication of meteorology and related sciences needed to be an effective broadcast meteorologist.”
Haleigh’s passion for weather began at a young age with her fear of severe storms. Fear quickly became her passion learning more about storms and meteorology. She loves talking and learning about the weather!
Haleigh loves spending time outdoors and staying active. She enjoys kayaking, fishing, camping, running, golfing, and hiking. She has competed in a few triathlons, and hopes to compete here in Northern Michigan! Haleigh also enjoys watching the Detroit Red Wings, her favorite team!
