Firefighters Fight Cabin Fire North of Kingsley

Grand Traverse Metro Firefighters are at the scene of a fire north of Kingsley, near Arbutus Lake. Grand Traverse Central Dispatch says it’s a small cabin in East Bay Township on Arbutus Hill Road, just north of Brown Bridge Road. No one was inside when crews arrived, and the fire is now out. Crews are cleaning up.

Crash in Cheboygan Co. Closes Portion of I-75

The Michigan Department of Transportation is warning drivers about a closure on I-75 in Cheboygan County. MDOT says the northbound lane right after Wolverine Exit 301 is closed temporarily because of a crash. Details on the crash are unknown at this time.

Flooding Closes US-10 From Clare to Midland

The flooding in Midland County is causing several road closures, including several miles of US-10. Both lanes of US-10 are closed from Clare to Midland. The closure starts in Isabella County at the intersection with US-127 and ends in Midland County at the US-10 business route. Tree Blocks Roadway in Grand Traverse Co.

Grand Traverse 911 says a tree is blocking part of North Long Lake Road just south of Cedar Run. The county road commission is aware and will be addressing the problem. Roads in general may also have standing water and other debris. Grand Traverse 911 says to use caution.

Power Restored to About 1,300 in Missaukee Co

What started as a Monday Morning power outage reported to include almost 1,300 in Missaukee County is now resolved. Consumers Energy’s outage map said the cause was “equipment failure” and the outage spanned a large area east of 66 and mostly north of 55. Petoskey Man Charged With Murder

A Petoskey man is facing charges for murder. We told you earlier this week police began investigating a murder Tuesday night and had a suspect in custody.
