Deputies Say Drunk Woman T-Boned School Bus in Lincoln Township

A 49-year-old woman from White Cloud is in jail for hitting a school bus Tuesday afternoon, the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office says.

Deputies were called to the intersection of W. 5 Mile Road and N. Mundy Ave in Lincoln Township, for a hit and run.

The sheriff’s office says that deputies arrived on scene and found that a bus from White Cloud Public Schools was attempting to turn onto N. Mundy Ave, when an SUV failed to stop at the stop sign. The SUV t-boned the school bus.

According to the deputies, the bus driver saw the SUV continue down the road.

Deputies were able to locate the SUV and the driver down the road.

The sheriff’s office says the SUV driver was arrested for failure to stop at the scene of a crash, operating while intoxicated, and resisting and obstructing a police officer.

The school bus driver and the two passengers on the bus were not hurt.
