A pickup driver has critical injuries after a serious crash Tuesday morning, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle crash on the US-31 by pass north of US-10.

They found that the crash happened after a pickup truck going north on US-31 lost control on the slippery road. The truck spun out into the path of a semi going south.

The semi hit the truck on the passenger side, causing major damage to the pickup truck and the semi.

The sheriff’s office says the driver of the pickup was critically injured.

Scottville Fire, Custer Jaws, MSP-Hart Post troopers and Life EMS responded to the crash. No further information will be released until family members have been contacted.

US-31 was currently closed from US-10 to N. Scottville Road while crews investigated the crash.

According to MDOT, all lanes have reopened from southbound US-31 at Johnson Rd, and northbound US-31 at US-10 (State Street).
