The Good Bowl in Traverse City showed their generosity by presenting a check of $5,000 to a local charity called Michael’s Place on Thursday.
The charity helps people who are grieving find healthy coping mechanisms.
The Good Bowl donates a dollar per bowl ordered to local and global charities, and it all starts with the community proposing charities to the Good Bowl.
The restaurant collects up to $15,000 charitable donations every quarter.
“When they order a bowl, we’ll ask them ‘where do you want your dollar to be donated today?'” Soon Hagerty, the co-owner of the Good Bowl, says. “So we spend a little time educating them on the charities. We do have them on the all, we do have them on our website, but our view of this is we really want to provide some good food but some great impact within the communities.”
