Luzerne Man Hit and Killed by 2 Cars While Walking on M-72

Oscoda County deputies say a Luzerne man was found dead after being hit by two cars in Big Creek Township.

On Tuesday around 8:50 p.m., deputies responded to M-72 just east of Pierce Road after getting multiple calls of an accident. When they arrived on the scene, they found one man laying in the middle of the road. EMS arrived and pronounced him dead.

The Sheriff’s Office says Adam Guice, 30, was walking east on M-72 in the driving lane when the first driver hit him. Guice was then hit a second time as he laid in the road.

Deputies say that if Guice hadn’t been wearing dark clothes at night and walking in the road, this accident could have been avoidable.

Traffic was rerouted from the crash site for about three hours.

The Oscoda County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in their investigation by an MSP Accident Investigator out of the Alpena Post and Oscoda County Medical Examiner Investigators.

Oscoda County EMS and Tri Town Fire Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office with the initial response to the accident and rerouting traffic.
