Tis the season for giving, and what better gift than potentially saving lives.
The holidays are here and with the hustle and bustle of last minute preparations and shopping, it’s easy to forget to donate blood.
Donations slow to a crawl during the winter months, but the need never goes away.
Versiti Blood Center of Michigan says they need 600 pints of blood each day to keep up with demand. The center also says it’s easy and only costs you just a little time.
“Donating blood is the best gift that you could give someone this holiday season. It won’t cost you anything except an hour of your time, and it really makes such an enormous impact on so many local families. So if you want to find a unique way to give back, have a great experience and feel great about your donation, I would say come in to donate blood,” Susan Street, Senior Account Representative at Versiti Blood Center of Michigan, says.
Versiti Blood Centers of Michigan have locations across the state, including one in Traverse City and Gaylord.
