Salvation Army Holds ‘Matching Mondays’ to Double Donation Amounts

As you head out to do your holiday shopping, you might notice the familiar rings form the Salvation Army.

Every year, the Salvation Army holds their Red Kettle Campaign. It’s the backbone of their fundraising efforts to be able to help people in need all year round.

And if you want your dollar to do double the work, Matching Mondays does just that. For the next three weeks, all donations made to the Salvation Army Traverse City on Mondays will be matched.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, up to $40,000 will be put toward doubling donations.

“One of the beautiful things about this red kettle campaign is the opportunity to have the community rally behind us as the Salvation Army to meet the need in the community. And we’ve seen year after year in the middle of a pandemic, in the middle of inflation, that the community has not shied away from that opportunity, but it has only embraced that, And we stand in awe of that,” Matthew Winters, a Lieutenant at Salvation Army Traverse City, said.

If you can’t make it to a bell ringer, then you can drop a donation in their virtual Red Kettle by .
