A global movement that started in 2012 is happening Tuesday.
“Giving Tuesday” is the name of the movement, and its goal is to build a world where generosity is a part of everyday life.
In that spirt, Real Estate One and area restaurants in Traverse City are teaming up to raise money for the Father Fred Foundation.
“Ladles of Love” is happening from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Tuesday at Real Estate One on Front Street in Traverse City. You can go ahead and pick up some soup and a cookie for lunch, and all the money raised will go directly the Father Fred’s Food Pantry. Real Estate One is also matching match 100% of all proceeds, doubling the donation.
The Father Fred Foundation says the holidays can be especially difficult for families in need.
“The community support means everything to us,” Stephanie Kimball, the communications manager at the Father Fred Foundation, said. “And with food shortages, with higher food costs, with COVID dollars drying up, we’re seeing double the amount of people in the food pantry needing help this year.”
If you would like a bowl of soup to pick up, then Real Estate One is asking for you to register . They also say if you can’t make it to the fundraiser, then you can also donate through the same link.
