Slopes Open Early at Crystal Mountain After Heavy Snowfall

Skiers and snowboarders will get their first chance to hit the slopes this Friday at Crystal Mountain.

The two-week early start for Crystal Mountain comes after the weather came in full force this month, with the slopes getting nearly two feet of natural snow.

Crystal Mountain says opening day of the ski and snowboard season is their most exciting day of the year.

“This year we’re opening two weeks earlier than last year. We’re going to have twice as many slopes So, it’s always exciting to see who gets the first chair and to get those first runs in it,” says Brittney Primau, public relations manager.

In addition to the new slopes, Crystal has a new brake station for those who are taking lessons.
