$1 Million Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in Canadian Lakes
Only one person in California took home the record-breaking $2 billion Powerball prize drawn Tuesday morning, but someone in or near Canadian Lakes won $1 million in the drawing.
The winning ticket was sold at Hixson’s Family Market, 10031 Buchanan Road in Canadian Lakes.
“I shop there and have known the family for many years. This is awesome for the store, the community and our neighbors,” said Kris Bybee, who works at Canadian Lakes Property Owners Corporation.
The $1 million winner matched the five white balls but not the Powerball. The winning numbers were 10, 33, 41, 47, 56 and Powerball 10. According to the Powerball website, 22 tickets across the country won the $1 million consolation prize.
The drawing was delayed until Tuesday morning because security measures were not met by the usual Monday night drawing time.
Recently, a $1 million winning ticket was sold in Traverse City as well.
