What You Need to Know About Buying Snow Tires for Your Car

This week’s snow might have you thinking about getting snow tires on your car.

Snow tires are made up of a much softer compound with more cuts, giving you more traction on roads that are covered in ice and snow. Shops recommend putting snow tires on as soon as the temperature is regularly around 40 degrees Fahrenheit or lower, so now is the perfect time.

Preparing your car for snow now is a great way to keep yourself and others safe out on the roads this winter.

“You can stop faster. You can in shorter distances and better handling. You can actually turn it in big difference. And once you drive on snow tires, it’s a night and day difference between all seasons and snows,” Scott Poumade, Manager of Cadillac Tire, said.

It is also recommended that you always keep an eye on the general maintenance of your car, especially in the winter, to prevent getting stuck out in the snow.
