Dick Family Farm and Pahl’s Pumpkin Patch Ready for the Fall Season

It feels like fall outside, so it’s time for fall activities.

Dick Family Farm in McBain opened for the season on Friday.

“We have petting zoo animals, some barnyard animals that you can come and feed and pet. We also have a corn bin where the kids can play in the corn, and the hay bell mountain with it has four slides on it this year,” said Lynnae Dick, Co-owner of Dick Family Farm.

Pahl’s Pumpkin Patch in Buckley is also ready to welcome visitors.

“We do have an apple cannon. That’s very fun. We also have a hayride, barrel train ride, a lot of animals to visit with, and a playground,” said Holly Pahl, Co-owner of Pahl’s Pumpkin Patch.

Both places have a corn maze if you feel up to the challenge.

Dick family farm’s corn maze theme is Michigan.

“Just the inspiration came to do something different this year, and we decided to do that. It was a challenge,” said Dick.

At Pahl’s Pumpkin Patch, they say theirs is just a good old fashion maze.

“I’ve been told that it’s the hardest one we’ve ever had. I’m not a corn maze person, so I go in a little ways and turn around and come back,” explained Pahl.

Pahl’s Pumpkin Patch also has something new this year.

“We’ve added pig racing. We’re still training our little piglets and they’re coming along. We’re really enjoying them more than anything,” said Pahl.

Either place you go, you will surely find your perfect pumpkin.

“We’ve had a really nice year of pumpkins. We have 14 different varieties, many different colors, and we have some huge pumpkins,” said Pahl.

“As long as we don’t get several hard frosts, I think the pumpkin should fare pretty well,” said Dick.
