Chatfield Investigation Turned Over to Attorney General
Michigan State Police say they have turned their investigation of former House Speaker Lee Chatfield over to the Attorney General.
Chatfield is accused of sexually abusing his brother’s wife for more than a decade starting when she was just 15 years old.
That led to a police raid of Chatfield’s former chief of staff in February and a raid of Chatfield’s Northern Michigan home in June.
Chatfield has admitted to having an affair with his brother’s wife, but says it was after she was an adult.
Now that State Police have turned over their findings, it’s up to the Attorney General’s office to finish the investigation.
