Harrison Man Arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Carrying Concealed Weapons

A Harrison man is facing several drug and firearm charges following a traffic stop in Cedar Creek Township in Wexford County.

On Sept. 3, troopers from the MSP Cadillac Post pulled over Collin Thomas Williams, 24, for an improper registration plate. on East 20 1/2 Road near Mackinaw Trail. Troopers say Williams initially lied about his identity. A subsequent file check revealed that Williams had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.

While arresting Williams, troopers found an uncased firearm, shotgun shells, a loaded syringe, a cell phone, and remnants of white crystalline powder in a baggie were located inside the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene and Williams was lodged in the Wexford County Jail. After obtaining a search warrant for the vehicle, troopers found another shotgun shell, a double-edged knife, and an additional loaded syringe were seized.

Williams was arraigned in a Wexford County Court on one count possession of methamphetamine, second or subsequent offense notice, one count carrying concealed weapon, one count felon in possession of firearms, one count felon in possession ammunition, one count felony firearm, one count improper possession firearm in vehicle, driving while license suspended second offense, one count false ID and habitual offender third notice.

Williams is due back in court on Oct. 4.
