Mason County Motorcycle Hit and Run Leaves One Man Critically Injured
A hit and run crash in Mason County early Saturday morning left one Ludington man with serious injuries.
Michigan State Police say around 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning along Pere Marquette Highway, a Honda motorcycle, ridden by a 49-year-old man from Ludington, was rear-ended by a Hyundai Accent, driven by a 35-year-old man from Tennessee.
The car drove off after hitting the motorcycle, and was located about a half mile from the crash scene.
The driver of the Hyundai was arrested for operating while intoxicated causing serious injury, along with hit and run causing serious injury.
The Ludington man riding the motorcycle was taken to Spectrum Hospital in Ludington before being medevacked to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
He was not wearing a helmet.
