Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Truck in Cheboygan County

A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a truck in Cheboygan County Thursday morning.

The crash happened on Riggsville Road at Bryant Road when the driver of a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, who had been stopped at a stop sign, turned left onto east Riggsville Road and hit a motorcyclist driving in the westbound lane.

The motorcyclist, according to the Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, crashed into the front passenger corner of the truck and flew off of his 2003 Harley Davidson XL 1200 motorcycle, coming to a rest about 20 feet away. The 55-year-old Cheboygan man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Silverado, a 68-year-old Levering man, was not injured but was issued a citation for failing to yield.
