Michigan State Police Offer Resources During September for Preparedness Month
The month of September is Preparedness Month for the state of Michigan, and the Michigan State Police want everyone to be prepared for whatever may arise.
MSP is encouraging families to have an emergency preparedness kit with water, at least three days of food, a list of medications and anything else they may need if they have to head to shelter.
Spl/Lt. Derrick Carroll says that MSP wants people to “sit down with your family, make a plan of what you’re going to do, and depending on the circumstances, whether it be a fire in your home, having the right numbers to call.”
More information on how to make an emergency plan can be found here.
These plans can be used for anything from a school related issue to a natural disaster.
