Gaylord Man Charged with Possessing, Promoting Child Sexually Abusive Material

A 21-year-old Gaylord man is facing charges of possessing and promoting child sexually abusive material.

According to Michigan State Police, troopers from the Gaylord Post received a complaint in May 2021 from a Gaylord woman that she had been sent two videos on Facebook Messenger of a child performing sexual acts. According to the report, the video was sent by 21-year-old Camryn Leigh Guiney.

Following an investigation, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Camp Ten Road and several search warrants were executed for electronic devices and on social media accounts.

Guiney was later arrested without incident on Sept. 9, 2022, and lodged at the Otsego County Jail.

Guiney was arraigned last week in an Otsego County court on one count of child sexually abusive activity, one count of child sexually abusive activity – distributing or promoting, and one count possession of child sexually abusive material.

Guiney was issued a $50,000 bond. He is due back in court on Thursday, Sept. 15.
