MTM On The Road: Walking the Mackinac Bridge, a Labor Day Tradition

Hope you're not afraid of heights!

The Annual Mackinac Bridge Walk returned Monday, a longtime Labor Day tradition for many.

While some have been walking across the bridge for decades, others are walking for the very first time today.

The walk first began in 1958 to commemorate the bridge. After taking a break in 2020 due to the pandemic, the walk has since returned and carried on in it’s former fashion.

The Mackinac Bridge will be closed to public traffic from 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Our On The Road Crew, Lauren and Tyler, are spending their morning on the bridge, getting to know new and returning walkers.
