Long Lake Township Fire Rescue Breaks-In New Fire Station

Long Lake Township firefighters are breaking in their new station.

The team moved into the building on Sunday after more than a year of construction.

The new station is three times the size. They have all new equipment and fire trucks.

Chief Andrew Down says the new space is necessary after taking on an ambulance service.

“The old facility was built as a volunteer organization. It didn’t have bunk facilities or shared kitchen space with the township. So having all that as our own aspect, bedrooms now, individual bedrooms for the staff help. Obviously, it makes happy staff,” said Chief Down, Long Lake Township Fire Rescue.

Now that Long Lake Fire Rescue has more space, they hope to purchase a boat and canoe to help with emergency rescues.
