Learning How to Play Pickleball, America’s Favorite New Sport

It’s a little like tennis, a little like badminton, and a bit like ping-pong…it’s the popular sport of pickleball!

And no, it’s got nothing to do with pickles! America’s favorite new sport is on the rise, surging 40% in the last three years to nearly five million players!

Created by three dads just outside of Seattle, Washington, looking for something fun for their kids to do during the summertime.

It’s been around for 50 years, and the sport initially had paddles made entirely out of wood, but now have transferred over to lightweight materials like graphite and aluminum. Played with a ball with holes, similar to a wiffleball– the sport is low impact, and the rules are easy enough for all ages to play.
