Michigan State Police say an Alanson man has been arrested for stealing a vehicle and threatening police.
On Aug. 4, MSP responded to a wrong way driver on I-75 near Old State Road.
When troopers arrived on scene, they say the vehicle was abandoned, and the driver ran from the scene.
They were then dispatched to a stolen vehicle call at a nearby home, believed to be taken from the wrong way driver.
The driver broke into a garage and stole a 2014 Jeep Cherokee.
That vehicle was found along S Old 27 Highway still running.
A homeowner nearby the highway called dispatch, saying a man was running in their backyard into the woods.
Gaylord police officers were in a foot chase with the man – when troopers caught up to him.
The man pulled out a knife – threatening officers – and was ordered to put it down.
The 39-year-old Alanson man is in the Otsego County Jail awaiting arraignment.
