Friends and family of Clare County Mounted Division Deputy Nichole Shuff gathered in Farwell to remember and honor her memory on Aug. 5.
Shuff was on July 29 after she was severely injured dismounting her horse at the Clare County Fair.
A public visitation, followed by a service, was held at Farwell School’s Jamie Performing Arts Center.
Deputy Shuff was laid to rest at a private ceremony at Surrey Township Cemetery with family and Clare County Sheriff’s Office staff.
Shuff was 33-years-old and an orthopedic physician assistant.
Her says she had a livelong love for animals—including horses.
Shuff was a volunteer for the Clare County Mounted Division for two years.
