Blair Township Passes $6.4 Million Bond for New Fire Station

Blair Township Fire and EMS officially has the green light to build a new fire station.

The department says the new station will be in a more centralized location, just a mile south of Chums Corner. Voters passed the $6.4 million bond on Tuesday. The planning process for it started over a year ago.

“It has current and modern energy efficiencies and it should be a great property for the community for many years to come,” Nicole Blonshine, Blair Township Supervisor, said. “It will increase their response time to emergency situations to 60% more of our Blair Township population.”

Construction is expected to start in the next 60 days, and should be complete by next fall.
