Boyne Mountain Resort Takes a Step Toward a Greener Future

Boyne Mountain held a ribbon cutting ceremony in celebration of their new solar array field.

The array includes 4,316 solar panels, each producing 410 watts of power. All the power created from this array will go toward powering all the homes and condominiums at the resort.

“It’s a way to really make a statement that people living and recreating on the property are doing it in a clean and renewable way.” Stephen Kircher, President CEO of Boyne Resorts, says.

Boyne partnered with CMS Energy to help move their Forever Project forward and to create a more sustainable environment.

“When you collaborate with great companies like CMS Energy that have parallel goals that we have, we’re able to execute developmental projects like this to have a real impact.” Kircher says.

Kircher’s goal is to reduce Boyne’s carbon footprint and he hopes they can be an example for other companies.

“We hope that our customers are motivated when they come to Boyne and think about it in their own lives and their own businesses and communities.” says Kircher.

Boyne Mountain Resorts plans on bringing a solar array field to the 12 other resorts they have across the country.
