Ruth Park Housing Project in Traverse City Nearing Completion, Applications Opening Soon

A housing project in Traverse City will be done soon, offering more affordable places to call home.

Ruth Park off 8th Street is a four story property that will offer 58 units. Six of those will offer features catering to those with disabilities. It’s targeted toward singles, seniors and families who earn up to 30% to 80% area median income.

“Housing is really hard to find in these tourist towns in Michigan especially, right? When it’s hard to find housing that is affordable within these tourist communities, every little unit counts,” Elizabeth Rademacher, Michigan State Housing Development Authority, said.

The project is expected to be completed by Christmas this year. Applications will be accepted late August or early September.
