Passenger Dies, Driver Injured After Roll-Over Crash in Mackinac County

A passenger died and a driver was seriously injured after a roll-over crash in Mackinac County Tuesday night, according to Michigan State Police.

Troopers were called to a crash on H-33 near Norton Road in Newton Township involving a car that rolled over.

When they arrived, troopers found that the driver fled on foot from the car and the passenger was ejected. The passenger died at the scene.

A MSP K-9 was called in and tracked down the alleged driver, who is currently being treated at the hospital for severe injuries.

Both speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, according to MSP.

The crash remains under investigation and the name of the deceased passenger will not be released.
