A new performing arts venue is setting its sights on Traverse City, and they’re in the final days of an opportunity to see your donations matched to help the effort.

It’s called the Alluvion, and the plans are for a 150-seat venue inside the new Commongrounds Co-op. The venue has already raised $50,000, and received another $50,000 match from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

But they have just a few days left to raise the final $15,000, which will be matched by the Green Brick Foundation. Jessica Kooiman Parker is a Curator and Designer with the Alluvion team. She says, “Inside of our little group we are hoping to get up to 200 patrons saying yes to our campaign. So we’re hoping to both reach both $65,000 and 200 patrons. The total campaign is $130,000: $65,000 is raised by our patrons, the rest is matched.”

“We’ve received overwhelming support from people. Lots of questions, lots of interest. Lots of people who want to know about the space and if they can perform there. So it’s obviously filling a need for this community,” she adds.

July 15th is the final date for the matching campaign. To learn more or to donate, .
