The Coast Guard hosts the annual Open Ramp as a way to give back to the community. Lt. David Carrier with Air Station Traverse City says, “This year we’re planning to have 30 aircraft here on the ramp. Something new for this year we’re brining in probably close to 20-30 cars as well. So it will be kind of a pseudo-Fly-In event as well as a drive-in car show.”

He adds it’s a way the Coast Guard gives back to the community. “We love Traverse City, we love our community. We love the jobs that we do and the mission we have. We’re certainly proud of it. We love to just share what we are capable of and what we can offer the town as well.”

The Open Ramp will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Air Station Traverse City. They’re encouraging visitors to use the free BATA shuttle service to avoid a traffic jam. For details on the shuttles Click Here.
