Cadillac Area Public Schools Veterans Memorial Stadium Undergoing Changes

Big changes are coming to the Veterans Memorial Stadium at Cadillac Area Public Schools.

CAPS Board approved more than $800,000 to be spent on upgrading the football field to artificial turf. It’s the only natural turf in the Big North Conference.

The school says that they’ll be able to hold eight times more events at the stadium, not only for other sports and classes, but also for the community. They say since there’s already a place to replace the track, now is the time to also replace the field.

“Veterans Memorial Stadium is a community asset,” said Jennifer Brown, superintendent of Cadillac Area Public Schools. “So, making sure that we’re investing dollars into maintaining and preserving this venue for our community is a big priority for not only the school board but also for the community.”

CAPS plans for the project to be finished by the fall of 2024.
