Cadillac’s Clam Lake Band is Kicking Off Their Summer Concert Series

Cadillac’s Clam Lake Band kicks off their summer concert series Monday night with a Salute To America theme.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. at the Rotary Performing Arts Pavilion. The band will open the concert with The Star-Spangled Banner as the Cadillac Area Honor Guard presents the colors.

“We are playing tonight to honor veterans and their families for the sacrifices that they have made for our country to preserve our freedoms.” says William George the Clam Lake Band president.

According to George, around 7:20 p.m. the band will take a moment to play a melody of songs that represent each branch of the military. During the melody, a member from each branch will walk to the stage to be recognized. The band will also ask  all the veterans in the crowd to stand and be recognized too.

“We want to ensure that people remember the veterans, their families, and the sacrifices that they have made over time.” George says.

They are anticipating a big crowd tonight, as they had one last year.

“We’re usually met with a lot of excitement and with a good deal of enthusiasm.” says George .

If you miss the band tonight, they will be playing at the rotary pavilion every Monday night until August 8. With the exception of July 4.

Each concert will start at 7 p.m. but will have a different theme. One of the themes will be Christmas in July where the band will play holiday favorites and Santa Claus will be in attendance.
