Roscommon Community Garden Looking to Add New Volunteers

A group of volunteers are looking to bring in more gardeners and plant-lovers to help with the Roscommon Community Garden.

The garden started in 2013, located across the street from the First Congressional Church in Roscommon.

The group has made improvements to the garden this year – including new raised beds, thanks to a grant from the Roscommon County Community Foundation.

They say their focus for the garden is the community, and they want to add more volunteers who may have more gardening and garden-planning experience.

“We’re always looking for volunteers,” said volunteer Janice Chaney. “We need volunteers for planting for weeding, for harvesting. We need help in kind of finding that site plan and finding direction.”

If you’re interested in joining, the Roscommon Community Garden volunteers will be holding a meeting on Monday, June 27 at 7:00 pm at the First Congressional Church to discuss new plans for the garden.
