A Harbor Springs motorcyclist died after hitting a deer in Carp Lake Township early Wednesday morning, according to the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office.
Eli Fisher, 45, of Harbor Springs was travelling east on Schmalzried Road when he hit a deer between Old School House Road and Hiar Road.
Fisher was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was taken to the hospital, where he later died because of his injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
