Le Voyageur Stuck in the St. Marys River for Two Hours

People on a tour boat had extra time Monday afternoon as it ran aground on the St. Marys River in Canadian waters.

The Le Voyageur from the famous Soo Locks Boat Tours in Sault Ste. Marie ran aground just before 1 p.m. near Algoma Soo Steel Plant in Canada.

The general manager from the tour boat company says the captain was looking at instruments while training another captain when it hit shallow water. Two tug boats eventually were able to free the tour boat around 3:15 p.m.

Just over a dozen people were on board. The normal time for the tour is around two hours.

It is unknown at this time if there was any damage.
