The non profit Fish On For Freedom is honoring vets by taking them fishing on Lake Michigan Friday.
At 5:15 a.m., veterans and boat captains will meet up at Ludington Waterfront Park Pavilion and head out to go fishing. After a morning of fishing, the veterans will be honored in a boat precision by people from around Ludington.
The pier will be lined with flags and the whole event will be followed by a luncheon.
“We want people to line up starting tomorrow at 11:30 on the loop walk in front of the coast guard station on the inner pier of Ludington,” Adam Lamb, a Fish On For Freedom Board Member said. “We want them to wave hoot holler and salute our veterans. Some of these guys never got the welcome home they deserved. This is something we have learned over the years that is very special to them.”
Adam says the whole point is to get veterans out on the water to thank them for their service to our country.
