Cancer patients in Traverse City are feeling “the love” from their community, thanks to a new donation of blankets. Serra Subaru is making the donation to the Cowell Family Cancer Center at Munson.

It’s part of the Subaru “Share the Love” event where dealers across the country make contributions to their local community. This is the eighth year of the partnership between Serra and the cancer center. Mike McFarlan with Serra Subaru says, “We’re always looking for ways to help the local community. This is one of the ways we thought would be a good thing.”

Heather Busch with the Cowell Family Cancer Center says the blankets mean a lot to their patients. “They express their gratitude. We often have many that are moved so much that there is crying involved. Realizing we have such a large support from our community. It means a lot to our patients. It means a lot also to our staff.”

Next up for Serra Subaru: supporting the Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency. Proceeds from the Subaru Grand Prix event at the Traverse City Horse Shows on June 26th will support the NMCAA.
