Jasper Township Man Killed in Midland County ORV Crash

A 56-year-old Jasper Township man died in a ORV crash Sunday night while trying to avoid hitting a deer on West Shepherd Road, according to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened at 10:33 p.m. Sunday when the man, who was driving his red and black 2018 Polaris RZR east, tried to avoid hitting a deer with his ORV, left the road, drove into a ditch and rolled over.

The sheriff’s office says the driver was not wearing his seatbelt or a helmet at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is no evidence that shows whether or not alcohol or drugs are factors in the crash.
