Brewvine: Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery
For this week’s Brewvine, Whitney Amann and Jeremy Erickson takes us to Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery where they are starting the summer out with a new line of hard ciders.
“We’re really excited,” said Patrick Brys, President and CEO of Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery. “We have just rolled out a line of hard ciders at Brys Estate. The first that we’ve ever produced. This started where in the last two years we have acquired 62 and a half more acres that adjoin our property. And on those on that acreage was 400 apple trees. So we said, ‘What are we going to do with all these new apple trees that we’ve just acquired?’ And so we decided, let’s make a hard cider.”
To kick off the summer season, Brys Estate launched delicious flavors of their new hard ciders, and guests already have their favorites.
“The Brut cider is just your plain apple cider,” Brys said. “Going to go great with, if you have even just a cheese board on our deck or if you’re making a meal with, like roasted apple flavors, maybe a pork tenderloin or something like that, then we have our rosé cider. So you got the cherry and the strawberry blended with the apples. So really refreshing. It’s kind of like, you know, rosé all day with the wine… now we have rosé all day with the cider.
“Then we have a lavender cider and we’ve actually taken our culinary lavender from the secret garden, which is our garden on the other side of the property here, and blended it in with the hard cider. And it’s a very refreshing drink for summer.”
If you want some adventure with your apple cider, Brys is giving guests the opportunity to see where they grow those refreshing summer flavors.
“We also are offering this summer our wine wagon adventure, where people can book a ticket on a stretch golf cart that takes them all around our property. And you’ll be able to see the vineyards, the apple orchards, the secret garden and our historic family farmhouse. So lots to do this summer up a Brys Estate. So visit our website and learn about all the different offerings we have.”
If you’re looking to relax at the lawn bard, enjoy a flight of wine and cider on the deck, or longue by the lavender at Brys Estate.
